The McManus family has provided leadership and service to
the area known as Hell's Kitchen - now officially called Clinton - for more than
100 years. For over 30 years our Democratic Association, through Jim
McManus' leadership, has and continues to act as law adviser, social
service provider, consultant, and accountant to his constituency. All are welcome.
Housing, jobs, health and social services problems are among other areas the
Club addresses.
Photo Note:
This is believed to be the photograph that Thomas J. McManus
used during his successful election as District Leader against George Washington
Plunkitt in 1905. There are a number of bills that Thomas passed while serving
in the State Senate. One of those bills helped create one of the Westside Parks
called "Dewitt Clinton Park." |
